Which Middle Office Groups Are "Easier" to Break Into From A Non-Target?
Pretty much the title says it. Which Middle Office groups (i.e. Risk Management, Corporate Treasury, Financial Control, Corporate Strategy, Compliance, etc.) are more doable in terms of breaking in as a non-target person? At this point, I think FO banking, Trading, ER, Consulting are out of reach and I have no interest in Ops, so I'm wondering if a middle office position, for example, might be possible?

I know a few people who moved from risk management to FO, but definitely the exception. Risk management might also be able to land you into a hedge fund if you're really good.
Now that I reread your question, I thought you meant easier to break into IB. Ignore my previous post, misinterpreted the question.
I'm going into IB risk management. Everyone who interviewed was from a target or semi-target. So, that one may be a stretch but I think the other ones are slightly to quite a bit easier.
I'm also curious about how difficult risk management is to get into from a non-target.
