Because based on past posts, you can figure out the person's gender, year and possibly major. Those 3 things + their school can easily reveal them.

If someone went to a HYPS school, why would they be ashamed? I don't follow that logic at all. How much better can they do than that? It's pretty obvious that shame is not playing a significant role in most of these users' decision process.

Because it's really easy to find people on the internet. You don't even need to know someone's school, a lot of people use a similar username/tag across multiple websites

Nah i'm not a troll, I guess you can just categorize me as new to forums. I guess I am just not very concerned with someone linking this profile back to me because I don't really post anything controversial, but I see why some would want to remain anonymous.

I read this website often but never really post, this was just my weak attempt at trying to get involved. Keep calm and carry on.

Anonymity bro, you never know who's reading and if they'll connect the dots when they see your resume pop up.
