- What can I do in the next 5-6 months that can significantly improve my application?
Any of the following:
1) Become a minority
2) Get adopted by a legacy
3) Transfer to one of their feeder schools
Basically, ya know.... just meritocratically improve your resume. Best of luck. XOXOXO
Just come up with a cure for cancer by month 3, and you should be set.
Also, I heard about this one guy. He had low grades and thought he was going to have to settle for UIUC but then he started a brothel in his parents house and got everybody laid. The Princeton rep had such a good time that they let him in, despite his average profile. Princeton is not Harvard, but it's worth a shot.
How foreign of a country are we talking here? Because I'm thinking some bribery or alterations of some transcripts may be in order. Make it show a gentleman's 3.9, ace the SATs and basically start lying, are you a refugee from Iran?
Be creative, at this point what you are doing is known in America as the "Fake Punt Pass".
There were less than five people who got into harvard undergrad class with your GPA, and I'm willing to bet every one of them had an insane network. Your chances are literally zero if you cannot find a way to boost your GPA to >=3.9 or meet someone who can get you in AND kill the SAT/have solid ECs.
you do realize that Harvard has never released a full study detailing who that have and haven't let in, right?
you have 0 way of possibly knowing that for sure
i'm more than confident that many people with 3.0s have gotten into harvard undergrad
of course, i'm sure they had some MAJOR strings to pull (child of China's president, son of Bridgewateralpha managing director, child genius, escape refugee from syria...)
your analysis is not off base, but i'm just pointing out none of us have the hard numbers as to how many people harvard admits, only medians and means

Look at the link I posted. Individual data points that are most likely outdated, but nevertheless accurate assuming collegeapps is a reputable.
I'm not an Ivy Leaguer so this isn't coming from a snobbery point of view but that's going to be exceedingly difficult. I had a 3.9 and great SAT scores back in the day and didn't get in there.
This is definitely not what you want to hear but why not just wait till finishing your undergraduate at a good university in the EU and apply for a postgraduate at harvard? You then have three years to really work on yourself and become the more all round candidate Harvard likes. That's a more realistic time frame than 5 months.
I'm sure there are a number of ways to get in but at this moment in time and from what you have stated; this doesn't look like the right time for you. A low GPA without any exceptional EC is not something you can fix in such a short time. You may want to challenge yourself like you say and you may end up learning quite a bit from the process but have a backup. Such that when things don't work out (and we all know that's almost certain) you don't miss the other opportunities that were sitting there for the taking which you ignored because you were chasing the pipe dream of a harvard undergrad.
I also wouldn't recommend transferring. Especially across countries and continents. In my experience it was a complete mess and not at all worth the sweat, blood and tears (ok I exaggerated about the blood part)

I hope you enjoy kutztown university.
Unless you are a black, gay, cripple from a favela, you have 0% chance of getting in, just delete this post and pretend you never even had the idea.
.
The toughest backdoor you'll ever have to get into ;)
