I completed application online and took a numerical test which followed the completed application. Firm initially emailed me after applying online that I was selected for an initial interview, which consisted of 2 telephone interviews at a later time in the week. Each telephone interview consisted of simple competency questions, "when was a time you worked in a team, and what was your role." Also, consisted of some market related questions, such as "Are you worried about the fiscal cliff in the U.S.?"

After, I was invited for Assessment Centre at a later date at their Canary Wharf office. This consisted of three one-on-one interviews, one individual presentation, a group exercise, and another numerical test.

- The three one-on-one interviews were very straightforward, basically trying to figure out if you meet certain competencies that they are looking for. Each interview is supposed to get progressively more difficult, and test more of your general financial knowledge.

- The individual presentation was just given to another interviewer, based on a prompt that you had 30 minutes to analyze.

- Group exercise was between me and four other individuals. There are three MS employees in the room as they watch you engage in the group exercise. The most important thing here is FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. As one MS rep told us after the exercise, "These exercises are completely foolish, but the most important thing is for you guys to follow the instructions and work well as a group."

-Finally, a numerical test, pretty self explanatory.

All in all, the interview process was pleasant, everyone was very kind, and you could tell that they wanted you to succeed.

My one advice would be just to prepare as much as possible.
