BlackRock Exits/Laterals
Hey - looks like I'll be joining BR full-time in an investments team. While I'm super thankful to have a full time offer in this environment, my heart is really set on ending up in a HF/PE down the line, so I've already thought about recruiting for IB. Was wondering if anyone had any advice on how possible it would be to lateral from BR to a top-tier IB shop in a year or two or, if I stayed at BR for 4-5 years, are exits to PE/HF possible? Genuinely curious to hear from the more experienced ppl. thx!
I am a first-year analyst in PMG so I am also wondering what the exit ops are like but being on one of BlackRock's Alternative Investments team I'd imagine could open some doors. Know someone in BR Private Equity Partners (FoF) who exited to Houlihan RX after less than a year
Do you know more details about PEP? I'm interested in them.
You got return offer of BR 2020 SA and will join in 2021 summer?
Follow
were you a 2020 SA and got the FT offer?
Former blk (in pmg on 6th floor) that made a transition to the private side. Which group are you in? Happy to share my thoughts if you want to send me a DM
Could you shed some light on private credit div?
Hey can I pm you as well?
About to interview for BlackRock OCIO (Alts) as a generalist summer analyst (apparently I get to pick and choose an Asset class when I sign)
.
From my understanding Blk may be a bit newer to the direct investments space if at all. So figure there may be some work on your end to educate the headhunters and kind of carve your own trail as compared to those who are in the IB track where the roads are already kinda paved. That being said, long term if may give you some unique perspective and you may end up being able to do all the PE/Hf stuff you want at black rock. I would think they already may have some of the sharpest minds in the investments industry already associated with the firm somehow. Might be worthwhile to try to find your “exit op” inside the firm. But I may be wrong. Just trying to help
There was an article on Bloomberg fairly recently about a PM who manages one of their equity funds that pulled down a $100MM payday. Echo the comment about finding opportunity internally. Don't know much about Blackrock, but they're so big and do so many things I wouldn't write them off before you even start.
bumppppp
