You won't even get pass the building's security, kid.
ouch, what if I pull a will smith in pursuit of happyness?
I thought I could do that with some boutiques when I had an interview in NYC but like sternfox said, you won't pass security. I didn't know the first floor is dedicated to security. Lehman has security inside and outside of the building. Like all the buildings has the first floor to security.
Maybe you can just say you are visiting a friend.
so i cant say I just want to drop off my resume? What if I do find a way up, like say i have an interview? they would surely be impressed by my ability to abade security and my effort/dedication. (i'm being serious)
You'll get kicked out the building or arrested for tresspassing. Security clearance is very tight to stop clods like you...not only do they need to confirm your appointment in the lobby, but they need to produce a temporary ID with photographs.
You won't stand a chance, and...
You're a freshman, aren't you?
Yeah, that ability may come in handy when they send you off to steal documents from other banks (I'm being sarcastic here).
Really though, why would illegally entering their office seem like a good idea to you? Try a little more conventional ways to come off determined.
There are, however, some boutiques that I've been to where you can just sign your name in a book and go upstairs. However, you will still get stuck at the receptionist.
I would say the best thing at this very late stage in recruiting would be to call ahead, ask to speak with HR, say that you will be in the immediate area and would really appreciate it if you could drop off your resume. Still, I doubt any serious banks need more interns, and if they did they would just go down the list in the applicants they already interviewed. Smaller boutiques will probably get annoyed that you want to take up more time than necessary for a resume.
damn, well then i guess i'll log the companies #'s in and call, say im outside and just want to drop off my resume. but i only have 1 interview, which means if i dont get the internship i'm SOL
Ring up HR and ask to meet or something. Handing your CV in at reception will not land you a job. Do you think the people at the reception know HR? Chances are HR raen't even in that building
