The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.
 

Not in that order. But those are the best places.

CS and MS are the largest as far as people. MS originates all their west coast M&A from the LA office. GS is strictly consumer I believe. Moelis is obviously a great place. JPM is pretty small with about 10 bankers. UBS still a good presence, it's just they keep losing people. Can't really speak about the rest.

Assuming he isn't talking about Grad School or Law, people should really move away for undergrad. You really get a different perspective moving to a city where you dont know a single person.

haha the beach and sun is nice but the car thing...i hate the jammed freeways in the afternoon... you cant get anywhere! :P
