What is your favorite building?
For me, I'd have to say the Le Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy France. Something about a huge castle on a tiny island close to shore.
Also the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Brings be back to a different time.
P.S. Not french
Whats your favorite building? Can be both new and old. My favorite new one would have to be the shard in London

Solow Building in NYC 9 West 57th St.
I like that one, definitely ahead of its time
Even cooler because if you aren't a BSD PE fund he wont lease to you
I work close by to this and can see it from my window. It's so ugly...
These are biased based on where I've lived but 191 Peachtree in Atlanta and 140 New Montgomery in San Francisco (aka Pacific Telephone Building).
520 West 28th Street NYC
ugh seriously? I live right around there. Even knowing what it's supposed to be, I can't get on board with it.
Plus... who wants to live IN a nice looking building? I'd rather live across the street...
My favorite is 1144 Fifteenth in Denver (local). Hines just completed the building and it's a great addition to the city skyline. First class A office highrise in Denver in more than 3 decades too.
560 Mission St in SF. I've always loved that building (JP Morgan building)
Big fan of this one. May walk down there for lunch.
200 West Street, New York, NY
Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na 333 Commerce St. Nashville, TN
Looks corporate as hell +1
had to google that one, was not disappointed. +1
CAA Building in Los Angeles (2000 Avenue of the Stars)
A far as office buildings, 1 Bryant Park here in NYC. That glassssss.
Resi has to be 56 Leonard and VIA 57 West for sheer uniqueness.
Via 57 West, Bjarke Ingels designed. Used to drive by it every day.
Big fan of the American Copper Building in NYC (626 1st Ave)
I have a few:
725 5th Ave, New York, NY 10022 401 N Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60611 2000 Fashion Show Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89109
E D G E :)
No love for 40 Wall Street?
Flatiron Building at 175 5th Ave, New York.
Neuschwanstein Castle, Visited when I was over for the G7. The place is incredible, it's literally like a fairytale castle out of Disney. If your ever in Bavaria I would strongly suggest a visit!
P.S. the backstory is quite fascinating too.
i ain't smoking the queer koolaid, bro. that's like gayer than justin bieber!

The Wawel Castle and Cathedral compound in Krakow, Poland The American Radiator Building in Bryant Park Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok's main airport) Antwerp Centraal train station All the old stations in classical style of the Moscow Metro
The Prada Marfa in Texas is a pretty interesting gag too
wow that american radiator building is beautiful
Right? The black and gold looks really good together, and the crown type top just caps it.
The Bank of China tower in Hong Kong. Hella sleek, futuristic, just overall fucking badass!
This one is also a great story because they didn’t have any kind of Feng Shui consulting on it, so Hong Kong locals hated it, but the mainlanders didn’t care.
This reminds me of 181 Fremont in SF
House of the Temple, Washington, D.C.
Hofburg Palace. It was the winter imperial palace of the Habsburg monarch in Austria-Hungary. It's the epitome of Baroque style.
If I am to pick a sky scraper I honestly think the Shanghai Tower looks really cool. It's tough though cause Shanghai has some cool buildings.
big fan of the galaxy soho in beijing. something about those curves
Love the Mt St Michel reference, mind-blowing place.
I'm partial to the Tour Montparnasse in Paris, so monolothic, glorious in its ugliness.
Torre Velasca in Milan is wild.
Bit basic but the Chrysler building is still so sexy.
8 Spruce Street
Gaudí's Casa Batlló - Those balconies look like f'n shark jaws -
1) Red Keep, 2) Isengard, 3) The Wall (pre dragon / renovation) and 4) Pyke (Iron Islands) the fireplaces and interior design are truly elegant.
1 Bryant Park, NY. That is one sexy building.
Looks pretty americanish ;)
101 Collins St, Melbourne.
One from my home country, tenants include GS, JPM, TPG and so forth... Great building and amazing interior.
I'm a fan of those old-school grand hotels, so naturally, either the Plaza (the Palm Court is gorgeous) or the Waldorf Astoria & the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
Trump Tower
Damn it, got hit by some monkey shit from a Clinton supporter
Shanghai Financial Center and The Wrigley Building in Chicago
The American Gardens building on W 81st St.
I wouldn't say 432 park is my favorite building, but I think it's an ironic building. It's the tallest building in ny and charges the most absurd $/sf, but looks like CIM got the most boring architecture to design it.
200 West Street New York, NY 10282
The Carbide and Carbon building in Chicago is sweet:
Also, the Gotham building in Singapore - I like slightly evil looking buildings
I was never a fan of Little India, but the Gotham building is pretty nice looking!
The Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, design by Louis Kahn.
Photos do not do it justice, seeing it in person is mind absolutely blowing.

I think Mont-Saint-Michel is beautiful to look at, but inside it's just a tourist trap filled with shitty souvenir shops selling fake medieval weapons.
Thats sad :(
My favorite 7414 Arroyo Grande, San Diego
200 West NY, NY
GM Building or 9 W. 57th
the stoddard temple
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved…
Damn you... I went to this thread for the sole purpose of posting that.
SB'd
if you know, you know!
I like the Hunt Building in Dallas because if you have enough money, you can put your name in big, bold, fuck-off letters
7 Bryant Park Helmsley Building 56 Leonard St 53 West 53rd
International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong
Colon Theatre (Buenos Aires) Dancing House (Prague) BMW Welt (Munich)
Anyone have any favorite coffee table books that features these buildings?
181 Fremont st in SF
