You're doing it wrong.

Since you're interested in trading, focus on closely following the markets, reading as many books + research reports as possible, developing your on philosophy on how the market works, building competency in some programming language to test some of your ideas, learning finance, statistics and economic theory, acquiring specific product knowledge and then developing your own original ideas. If you stay committed to doing this, you will be prepared for everything that comes after.

And I'm yet to meet anyone who has "goodness in 'there' heart". Good luck searching.

Not to mention, not only are you doing it wrong, but even if you were doing it even slightly right you don't even give a resume. It's as if you got a food stamp and are looking to eat.

Clearly he doesn't know what he is doing wrong here... But it's ok. You still have time to learn and this site is anonymous. If getting an internship was as easy as posting a thread like this, there would be no such thing as target or semi-target school status because everyone would be breaking into wall street. You are not entitled to anything; you are a lowly sophomore with no experience.

Not an English class true. But you really expect someone to hand out an internship. Especially someone who doesn;t know how to spell.

Very Interesting.

Why does it seem like 95% of the people on wall street oasis are stuck up. You would think that you guys are billionaire portfolio managers the way you guys talk. I wasn't really trying to get an internship, I was trying to see who some people worked for

The contradiction is too much. Your bad manners are exceeded only by your bad manners. Learn some manners and what is needed to get an internship.

Haha. Good one.

To OP: You didn't think any of the traders would just introduce themselves to you as: "VP Smith of XYZ, trading ABC and I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party." How dumb are you?

I have my google blog reader list available to download: http://zacharydavid.com/takeout.zip

All you have to do is go to google.com/reader, settings, import/export and import the zip.

Everything is categorized by general markets, pure quant, trading, and some higher order thinking stuff.

Commit to read 2 - 5 articles per category per day. Then gradually ramp it up. It'll take about 6 - 12 months to understand whats going on. But eventually you'll have absorbed so much point-counterpoint that you'll be able to make your own statements.
