I have to submit choices for my last rotation soon. What do you guys think of:
1. EM trading (mainly LatAm here in NY)
2. Commodity index trading
3. Credit correlation/exotics
Mainly concerned with the prospects of each desk going forward. I've sat with each desk and clicked very well with all of them, so the tiebreaker will have to be prospects/$ potential. Thx!

which bank and which ones
which bank and which ones have you rotated through so far?
Born in hell, forged from suffering, hardened by pain.
barcap/cs/ubs level...did
barcap/cs/ubs level...did prime services and hy trading already
Exotic guys can make tons of
Exotic guys can make tons of $$$, but prospects are not as great as they used to be... Commodity Index sounds like the best tradeoff prospects/$
how did your first 2
how did your first 2 rotations go? if you do correlation you'd stay on the fi floor i believe, which would be helpful if that's where you're looking to get a FT offer from (it allows you to more easily continue to network with the hy trading desk) . A lot of times the third rotation can be meaningless (regardless of what HR tells you), and a lot of people use it to keep hustling and networking with their first couple rotations in hopes of getting an offer from there. it is VERY common for traders/intern managers to get "comfortable" with kids from the first 2 rotations, and by the time the third rotation comes around they are tired of having to start from day 1 with another set of interns. Not saying offers don't come from the third rotation (they definitely do), but a higher % come from the first 2 rotations. And I just assume you didn't want prime services, as that's generally how it was when I was an SA. I think I know where you're at, and I think I went through the same program, so shoot me a pm if you have any questions.
Em has solid spreads and has
Em has solid spreads and has foreseeable growth in the future... Port mgr's are leaning heavily towards >5% in em.
Though Latam is increasingly moving towards a developed/efficient market place (this may be a biased opinion)
