Anyone have any success stories from submitting their resumes online to BB firms? I am from a non-target and sometimes I feel like it is useless to submit my resume online to places like Goldman or Morgan Stanley even with a 3.8 and good experiences.

Not so much...
I am in the same boat as you. Non-target but good resume other than that. All of my interviews so far have come from avenues other than blind applications online. You need to apply online so you are in the system with HR, but you need to give HR a reason to contact you and not gloss over your resume/app.
However, it is still relatively early in the recruiting cycle. I wouldn't really start worrying until February.
I am from a completely
I am from a completely non-target....our HR office doesn't even know what investment banking is, I am sure of that - there are 0.0 alumni in banking at my school. I just applied online, I have no connections whatsoever and I got an offer for SA in S&T last summer at one of the banks mentioned. So here is your success story. It's all luck I guess, but obviously not impossible.
Gini - did this offer happen
Gini - did this offer happen to be outside the US? if it is in the US then that is very surprising.
Non-target here too
I, too, am from a completely non-target school (previously listed between 90-100, but now over 100). I applied blindly to a now-defunct investment bank and managed to secure an interview. Like Gini said, it's luck I guess.
I studied in the US, but
I studied in the US, but yes, the offer was for outside the US. When I applied online I just chose as many locations as they allowed me to choose, so I always put NYC as one location and then as many other countries as they listed.
Interesting, why do you think it is easier for non-target people to get offers for outside the US?
I don't think it is
I don't think it is necessarily easier but have been told that places outside the US tend to look at online resume submissions more than the NYC location.... regardless, very commendable
I hate to bring it up, but I
I hate to bring it up, but I know the women at my non target have had success blindly applying online, while no men have.
It's all about the networking. We have had great success from my non-target through networking with alumni.
