I would try either yousendit or dropbox; however, I am not an IT brain, so I am not sure what (if any) security risks may be present.
Most banks are strict about this but there are services like dropbox, apple.me, datasite. If you can even access them. We've had IT open up a ftp link (file transfer protocal) between our network and the client network, but that was a major pain in the ass.
Good luck with that one. Best to put the onus on your client. Banks are really difficult about these things and most of those ftp sites will be blocked anyway.
if it's a temporary data room problem, i've seen people just toss it on a CD and fedex to clients until things are back up and running.
DropBox works well, FTP way better. But, yes, a pain in the ass to set up.
The CD in a FedEx box sounds like the best solution.
I used to use senduit.com, but had my hand slapped by compliance so I stopped. Your IT dept can probably put togehter an FTP site.
If you're want a truly robust and secure way to transfer files, I would do it through an online dataroom provider, like IntraLinks or Merrill Corporation. You don't need to set up an entire dataroom, but they have a feature like yousendit.com that they may or may not charge you for.
Good luck.
FTP Results in best speed, reliability
Tons of sites that can handle this
"FTP Results in Best Speed"
Best speed for what? Any of these methods will be like 2 seconds or so, so what's the big difference.
FTP For Technology File Transfer, Is this Secure for Very Large Files? (Originally Posted: 10/15/2010)
For Large models, sometimes 100MB or larger, is this acceptable
Do you need to have password, etc.
Please help
From a technical point of view, no, FTP is not secure. You should be using SFTP, which is encrypted. That said, nobody seems to care, and plain old FTP gets used all the time.
Thanks on the S FTP / FTP S; just goggled it. Also called FTP-S

Just out of curiousity, what is in your 100mb equity research model? Working with data sets generally requires a high level of technical expertise....
Seen plenty of 100mb files, especially with graphics, lots of assumption tabs, etc.
