BlackRock or hedge fund internship for sophomore summer
Hey guys, which internship would "look better" on a resume for IB summer analyst and then full-time positions, a BlackRock internship, or an internship at a large hedge fund? I'm currently a sophomore at a semi-target (although you can probably guess where I go to school from my username haha) and I interned at a very small hedge fund last summer. (~70mm AUM). I would like to work in investment banking after college and I would like some input as to which internship would be better for this summer, BlackRock or at another hedge fund, a much, much larger firm than the place I worked last summer, assuming these were both options for me. The work at the hedge fund will likely be more interesting and more "important" and relevant than the work I would at BlackRock, but I feel like the BlackRock name might trump that. Any input? Thanks
Do u have a position lined up???

Definitely go for BlackRock
I would work at the Hedge fund. Asset management blows.
What are the roles at each company? BlackRock NY is really great if you're in a front office role. I have a good friend working in their portfolio management group - you wouldn't believe the network and comp the kid is getting.
I second TheBigBambino. If it's in PMG, I'd go with BlackRock. But if the position is BO with BlackRock, then the hedge fund.
How large is the hedgie?
