Anyone ever been to the Boston Career Forum?

I'm white, dont speak Japanese and im thinking of going, any suggestions?

I have some other asian friends going (korean, chinese etc) who dont speak any japanese either, is there a possibility they could be more successful at the conference?

hey I'm astonished to see someone here talking about the BCF! I've been there last year, still thinking about whether to go this year.

Pertaining to your question, I'd say it depends which division you're going for... if it's S&T I don't think Japanese is an absolute MUST, however preferable. I'm pretty sure though that if you convince them why you want to work in Japan you're good to go.

For IBD though, and I see you posted this into the Banking section, they want absolute Japanese fluency.

If there's more you want to know, don't hesitate to ask man

Are there any other Japan bankers / will-be bankers out there?

sorry to bring this back from the dead, but i couldn't really find anything on the boston career forum through search.

my questions is, i absolutely do not speak any japanese, but am interested in recruiting for HK/Asia internships. I am fluent in mandarin. Would the fair be appropriate for someone like me? Thanks.

oh, i interviewed w/ 4 people at bcf becos its very unorganized and whatever you interview for is kind of arbitrary. My japanese is not good enough for IBD, so i did FX S&T and research instead/

yep, i did w/ head of fx trading, head of fx sales, equity sales, and equity research. u may call to ask, they are very friendly. my situation is too messy, not the same.

1styearBankersales in tokyo is the new equities in dallas

u dont get it. only las vegas can be comparable to tokyo. what's life for.

1styearBankerI hope to god you're flame. Enjoy sales.

u r so mean even to a girl. how could you are so negative to life.

Also, did anyone interview for the FX/ Forwards trading opportunity during the forum? I did, and now when I tried to reach the person I interviewed with, I came to know he has left the firm. So, was wondering how to pursue this further.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated. Thank you!
