Right there with you... Not applying to Duke, but applying to a whole waterfall of schools beginning December 1st. R1 for some, R2 for the others, since the revised GRE score reporting schedule pushed me back until November 17th.

Right now it's looking like:

MIT Princeton NYU LSE Oxford Columbia NYU-Poly USC Claremont McKenna U of Rochester Vanderbilt IIT

Still trying to scramble for some "safeties.." Seems hard to find safeties with a MFin program, especially. Good luck!

Wow thats a long list. I am applying to :

LBS LSE MiF Simon MIF Warwick MiF Olin HEC Msc Strategic Management

Cant apply to MIT Princeton - too expensive and quanty I am mostly looking at lesser quanty finance programs

Also, I am a recent business management graduate, so which other programs do u guys think I should apply. My GMAT etc is ready, I just need to fill in the application.

ANT:
I am thinking of setting something up on my site so you guys can compare everyone's profile or get an idea of how competitive the years class is. Any interest?

I am interested. Lets do so!!

ANT,

I'm ridiculously interested. As much as I really enjoy using Andy's application tracker on Quantnet, there's just not that many people attaching stats to their application status. At least, not enough people. Any idea when you'd be able to roll this out?

General Disarray,

I've been doing some serious thinking about Boston College, but I've been getting some mixed messages. Do they push for applicants with work experience or not? Formally, in the FAQ, they welcome recent undergraduates, but the class profile & the application process isn't all that encouraging. What do you think?

Guess they hear you ;) The Quantnet Tracker has now added GRE Q/V/AWA and GPA stats so you can see stats from the applicants and see how competitive you are.

Anyone looking to apply to Villanova, please message me and we can talk.

@banawnaw - I am always thinking about ways to expand the MSF site and provide more info. I'll talk with Andy before I do anything similar to what he has been doing (out of respect).

As for Boston College, stay tuned to my site. I am talking with them now and should be posting some student reviews and updated class profiles.

ANT, I think you should find some way to group schools by location i.e. midwest, southeast, etc. I think location (where we want to work) really factors into our decisions when picking schools. This might help users learn about schools more efficiently.

A map with clickable regions that takes you to a list of schools in that area would be awesome as would an admissions probability calculator and free MSHQ boxers.

I could probably interface something with google maps and stuff. I am really pushing for more student reviews and stuff like that. Just added two Wake Forest reviews and have a couple UVA out. BC is in the works. That and I am going to put some money into a decent forum set up and re-roll that out. Too many Nigerian spammers killed the old forum (that and a lack of activity) .

Sylverlee:
For the record, I talked to someone from BC's career center, and he kept stressing how bad the placements were over there right now.

BC = Boston College right ?

But if I am not wrong, wasnt it established in 1984 ? So, logically speaking shouldn't it have more visibility in the job market?

I've applied to LBS MiF in R2 and got shortlisted for the interview. Now waiting to receive interviewer's details... Time goes so slowly. Anyone got happy with LBS MiF in R1?

So far I only have an app out for UNC's MAC program. It's my top choice. Interviewed early January, I'm venturing to guess I'll know on Monday. The security deposit is due on the 27th for early admits, so that will tell them how many seats they have left.

If it doesn't work out... uhh, I guess I'll finish my Duke MMS app and Wake Forest MAC app. Really banking on UNC though, my GPA GMAT are both higher than average for the program and my interview went very well I think.
