Has anyone had any luck with these recruiters? If so, then what's your background?
Headhunter: Dynamic Search Partners
Generally speaking, our users shared that this firm has many prestigious HF and PE clients. They are well worth you time to speak with and you should treat it like an interview when you sit with them.
Unfortunately, they get most of the good looks. They are scrappy (obvs good & bad), but a pain to deal with. My background is pretty similar to most guys on here, nothing special. Ivy - elite boutique - L/S HF.
Dynamics is a reputable buy-side recruiting firm, especially if your primary interest is with Hedge Funds (they do PE also). Yes, you should meet with them. Yes, please treat it like a serious job interview.
They're one of the better buyside recruiting firms, have several legit clients (GTCR, Apax, Vista on the PE side and Citadel, Magnetar etc. on the HF side). They work as a team (as does every search firm) so it doesn't matter who sent you the initial email - you'll be working with everyone there as opportunities come up.I do remember their interview being significantly more technical than the other headhunter interviews I had (they didn't ask me traditional PE technicals but had a lot of questions about what was going on in the industry I covered, what were some investments I liked, some details around the models I've built etc).

I got... well nothing... out of a friend of a friend who worked there. They were kind enough to give me the time of day because of that connection, but I never got an interview out of it. Target non-ivy, boutique IB, L/S HF.
These guys suck!

One of the more popular firms, they rep a lot of funds. Relatively even mix of PE and HF from what I could tell.

Also, I'm not sure how many incremental value-add responses you'll get by specifically calling out Marrisa Cole. Not saying it's wrong, but maybe try to be a little more discreet. I think you would have come to the same conclusion about Dyanmics from this thread without putting her name out there.

Anybody worked with this firm on private equity opportunities (not hedge funds)? I found this online article about the founder not paying his Nanny and was taken aback. My group is not open to recruiting and they know a lot of people at my firm. My concern is that working with them may lead to them finding out if the firm lets it slip or shares information that they shouldnt to maintain relationships
Keith is an untrustworthy prick that will try to push you to take any job at any shop (no matter how shitty) he thinks you can get.
But Dynamics is very professional and places well. They won't leak the fact you are interviewing.
You can work with one of the other partners there if you'd like. I flat out wouldn't work with Keith

They are horrible
I had one of their recruiters ask me something along the lines of "are you still with that GF who isn't interested in moving to LA?"... Wasn't even polite about it, later implied i should dump said GF to take the position.
I assume this information reached them via them FB stalking you? Fun.
despite the negativity on here, they have many top tier hedge fund clients (probably the #1 hedge fund headhunter, maybe tied with search one), so if you're interested in HFs at all I would take your interview with them extremely seriously. they also run the PE process for Leonard Green, GTCR, and apax (obviously all 3 are excellent shops)
