Anyone dip?

Recently moved to lower Manhattan and having a hard time finding dip (I know, gross habit). Duane Reade seems to carry nothing but skoal/kodiak mint. Any fellow monkeys share my habit and know of a place that regularly carries Copenhagen?

Used to occasionally but haven't bought in a year or so. I've been able to get Grizzly and some Snus at bodegas (never bought cope because i'm classless) --- I'd imagine they have a wider selection. No one dips in the northeast and it seems like drug stores are phasing out tobacco on the whole and oftentimes lack dip around here, but I generally see the best tobacco selection there. Also 7/11 should have everything, but those are almost all around the gramercy area afaik

Damn right it's gross. In the Army I was constantly cussing at/getting pissed at (depending on rank of course) people who were leaving their nasty-ass dip bottles in the command post that my team had to clean up.

I could be mistaken, but I think the ban on shipping Tobacco to New York only impacted cigarettes. If that's correct it's probably much cheaper to get it online.

This shit does happen. Generally, smoking the dog shit out of the culprit resolves the issue. If they outrank you, then add it to you reasons why you hate the army. Personally, I always kept my spitters relatively fresh. No older than 24 hours and under the top part of the label.

OP -- I know you're asking about dip, but as a former dipper and otherwise degenerate abuser of nicotine products (gum, lozenges, Blu disposable vape pen, and cigs on and off), I highly recommend a relatively new product called "Zyn". They're pouches similar to snus, made in / imported from Sweden, containing nicotine salts derived from tobacco but not containing any actual tobacco. They come in white plastic containers same size and shape as a dip can, are available in a variety of delicious flavors (I'm partial to coffee and cinnamon), and pack either 3 mg or 6 mg of nicotine per pouch (I use 6 mg -- delivers a great buzz even after years of nicotine use). You tuck them in your upper lip and there's no excess salivation -- so no need to carry around a dippy cup or bottle.

Maybe worth a shot if you run across them in the city and want to keep your habit (which apparently some people regard as disgusting... triggered) under the radar.

My buddy dealt with the same thing out in Seattle...here's what to do. Go on a website called Northerner and order tubs of Stokers. Definitely not the same quality as cope but the wintergreens are at least similar in taste. A tub is 10 cans worth and around $15..best deal out there, especially if you're in a city where cans aren't on every corner. If NY is weird and doesn't let the site ship to you then call up a friend and have him Fed-ex some logs to you.. Best of luck #dbh

Kodiak Ice is one step beneath Copenhagen in terms of kick. Plus, punching the bear can be a stress reliever. Nothing beats the cope though. Btw you are a dick, I am craving a dip bad. it has been 11 years. Fucking a.

One night when I was working on a deal with an analyst this summer, a VP in my group came over and asked the analyst for some. The analyst opened his cabinet and pulled it out, then gave some to the VP. I think genearlly people don't do it unless it's late at night or their office door is closed.

Sure it does... because I'm going to guess that it's a southern thing, thus, most people talking about this are working at second-tier places such as Walk-all-ova-ya or BofA... have never encountered any NY bankers who dip... at least not at work.

Alot of NY bankers dip at work. I probably worked at a much less prestigious firm than yours, though, b2. So that would make sense why you've never encountered it.

But actually, I don't see it happen until late at night. People generally do it to stay awake, not to get their nicotine fix. And it has a lot to do with group culture. We had a pretty tight knit culture. The analysts in my group had so much dirt on everyone else (or participated in it with everyone) that I doubt seeing someone dipping would have any effect on their level or respect for someone.

I just figured maybe people did it to relax or it gives them something else to do along with work. Most people pack lips when their bored, I do.

I'm sure at some of the top places people dip but my guess would also be late at night.

Yea I hate snus but I recently got bitched at for dipping while on the phone so its all I have to keep my temper in check

buysnus.com. real snus. back in undergrad Id buy it from sweden every couple weeks. perfect for class and a much much better buzz then the 'snus' they sell in the US. nicotine content is much much higher. i usually get the Thunder Frost and the Oden Extra Strong. absolute money. wont regret it

I had it shipped over by friends in the US. Literally the only way to get what we traditionally think of as Dip in the US.

Nah there's no snus...ive had people ship it before, but its been about 50/50 in terms of the package not getting through customs..so it turns into paying round 8-9 a tin if it even gets through
