Global annouced m&a rankings YTD- Thomson Reuters

http://online.thomsonreuters.com/DealsIntelligenc…

Hey guys, this is how global announced M&A looks like so far- Thomson Reuters. What do you guys think, any surprises out there in terms of advisory rankings amongst the banks and whether you people think these will sustain going later in the year- almost mid year now? Just getting views here and not trying to sodomize any bank.

Just to recap.

  1. GS 299 mill
  2. MS 283
  3. CS 262
  4. JPM 244
  5. Citi 243
  6. BAML 215
  7. DB 174
  8. Barcap 147
  9. Rothschild 142
  10. Evercore 134

My thoughts were:

  1. Not much diff between JPM, Citi and CS, and one deal can make a diff though it seems as if GS and MS are posied to take the top 2 spots again this year.

  2. No mention of Lazard and UBS in the top 10. We all know why UBS but Lazard being replaced by Rothschild- that's weird!

  3. The above league tables are severely different from these one though: http://fn.dealogic.com/fn/MARank.htm
