Goldman Sachs Undergraduate Camp - More information on this program

Can anyone that knows about this or has gone through it provide me with some insight into what it's like? Also, does anyone know how many people are selected for this?

Thanks in advance.

Too bad it's just for minority students. They should have events like that for everyone.

My friend is half white half Philippina while the app stated it was only for Black, Hispanics, and Native Americans. She got an invitation and I have read on other forums that non-minority students have previously attended the two-day program.

Just out of curiosity, what was the application like? Were SAT scores required?

No SAT's, just a cover letter and a resume. No interviews either.

And how do you get invited to apply?

Deadline passed (May 19). Research, research, research. I go to a non-target and I just googled like crazy to find a couple of programs for freshman. However, most had earlier deadlines and I was only able to apply to the GS camp (found it like 4 days before the deadline!).

Oh, alright. Was just wondering about it for next year. I'm starting college this fall

As someone who attended PEAK, I definitely recommend it over the Goldman Camp. I have friends who attended the Goldman one, and I don't think any of their experiences were nearly as beneficial as mine, especially in terms of networking. I'm definitely not as good at networking as my friends who attended the Goldman Camp, but I met probably 3x more MDs and VPs that I still keep in touch with. I know that the Goldman one probably seems more useful, but trust me, PEAK will help you way more. It's helped me so much in recruiting this year and I probably couldn't recommend it enough. Let me know if you have any questions about it!

OP, in your own words, explain to us what an investment bank does?

The difference between successful people and others is largely a habit - a controlled habit of doing every task better, faster and more efficiently.

Im intrested in the camp whether it is this year or next it does not matter, i would like to know what do i have to do to get in? how much is it? and where do i find more info about it?

Why are you guys throwing MS at me!? I asked this question because i read an old WSO post that said it was for only for minorities, specifically blacks, Hispanics, and native Americans! And that didn't make sense to me so i wanted to clarify. Thanks for your answer moneymogul.

You have gotten 33 monkey shit and you have yet to reach 50 banana points. Perhaps you should look at your own posts rather than blame others?

p.s. no I wasn't one of them who gave you the MS

i did this program. there were definitely non-minorities there. that means non-LGBT people, non-1/16th native american people, etc.

and it's def a good way to get your foot in the door..a lot of those kids ended up at GS or some other BB.

Cool, do you know what they select people based off of? And how hard is it to get in?

Thanks for commenting. I have only received the confirmation message from GS which I think was automatically sent. Do you know when I'm going to receive that?

looks like a future gekko imo.

"Salesmen and traders are wild, cunning, aboriginal creatures who advise money managers about deceiving their bosses and finding new strip bars; their favourite phrase is, "Fuck you." IBankers eat fruit. Salesmen and traders eat meat, preferably fried."

I haven't heard from them yet... does this mean I'm rejected? or should I wait? do they reject me just because I'm a student at UTokyo which is not an American univ?
