Good idea to email other (summer) analysts regarding their interview process?
Hi guys,
I have an upcoming interview for a summer intern position at a bank (corporate, not IBD). I'm not so sure how the interview will be structured (i.e. technical, behavioral, any specific questions, etc)...
And so, I was wondering if it is a good idea to email another summer intern (same position, currently working, just hired earlier) regarding their interview process, seeing that they did land the position. Is this appropriate? This is another student, so it's not like they'll be interviewing me. Or would this be frowned upon and dinged if the MD and interviews found out that I reached out to this guy?
Thanks.
I would email them to ask to have a conversation and then ask them the questions you have by phone. It's too easy to get things misconstrued by email or to come off poorly.
No.
If you do not personally know this guy I wouldn't do it. Just do what you are comfortable doing. Remeber words goes around pretty quickly.
Don't do it.
