GPA at a Semi-Target

Going to be a junior at a semi-target (think top 20 school). 3.6-3.7 GPA Econ major and Financial Econ minor. Also did an internship at a boutique investment bank doing equity research and will be doing merchant banking this summer. Have been networking with alumni, doing informational interviews, and will raise GPA as much as possible in fall. Still hesitant that it wont be enough considering others probably have higher GPAs here, but I feel like I have some relevant work experience that might compensate for a decent but not amazing GPA. Should I shoot for BB or shift focus to boutiques? Any advice would be appreciated.

 

I had BB interviews that turned into offers with a similar gpa from a nontarget. I did get asked "what happened to the other .3?" in an interview. As long as you have a good answer you'll be fine. Just say you spent time making sure you were well rounded and point to your internship experience and any extracurriculars you did during undergrad that can show why you don't have a 4.0. In the end, your GPA is still good.
