Guggenheim partners - Any other MM boutiques that are similar?

Heard from a friend that they pay their summers 100k pro-rata for the summer. Any other middle market boutiques paying similarly? If not, what is their incentive to pay their summers this much, and does this mean that their full-time analysts get 100k starting? Please advise.

 

i don't know if the 100k thing is true or not, but why is it that hard to believe? A firm like guggenheim needs to find ways to attract top candidates since it doesn't have the prestige of a goldman or lazard (or even jefferies, at least among students at my campus), and paying above street is a good way to do that.

This is just for 10 weeks, so its not like they would be paying base of 100k. the extra 30k prorata only comes out to 5kish per sa, and i doubt they have more than a handful of sa's, so its not like they can't afford it.

And then when they extend offers they give you 100k starting? I don't think so.

Why would someone take an SA at a pro-rated 100k and then sign on FT for 70K?
