How nice is too nice?

I bought a Hugo Boss gray suit at the Barney's Warehouse Sale last weekend and just got it tailored. I want to wear it to my superday interview but I was wondering if this is too nice...definitely don't want to come off as arrogant/too worried about how I look. Alternative would be a really cheap black suit. What do you guys think?

Don't worry. Not to be a snob, but a Boss suit isn't "too nice." It's fairly average, at best. However, if you are concerned about being overdressed, just stick to a white broad-cloth button-cuffed shirt, and a conservative tie (think burgundy or navy grenadine). Really, unless you're wearing Kiton or Oxxford, you're not going to be overdressed (and even then, most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference).

When one man, for whatever reason, has an opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

Haha, I was just going to say that. I have a Boss suit and love the way it fits, but it won't be considered "nice" to anyone into suits or fashion. I have a BR suit that is made as nice as the Hugo for 2/3rds the price. Just be conservative and dress the part and you will be fine.

PS, Good price on that suit, I paid like 800 for mine 3-4 years ago.
