INTERN POSITION: TRIAL PERIOD
Hey guys,
I just accepted an offer to be an intern at a VC firm doing due diligence, VC company marketing, and business development. However, I was told that their previous interns were kicked out because they cannot write. I am not bad at writing but I was told that kids from Stanford and Berkeley were both kicked out because of their writing skills.
I was given the chance for a two week trial period. What do you guys think about the trial period? What do I need to show because honestly I am scared to death right now.
Any comments would be helpful!
Well, first you need to make sure that your pumps match your purse. Or you could just ignore that and stop being a pussy.
And after that you gotta find some confidence and go in there with a can-do attitude. You're describing a situation of manifest destiny. If you act like you belong and you put your best foot forward then you will be fine. If all you do is worry about the previous interns and how you're going to fail then you're NOT going to be fine.
^^^ well said Jack. That really sums up much of this game of business.
There't too many of these "OMG!!! I'm so scared!!!!!!!!!!" posts - just stop being a pussy and work hard every day and things will take care of themselves.
Aka the past interns were foreign and could not write coherent reports. Best advice: Be a native English speaker. If you aren't, there is little that you can do in the next 2 weeks to significantly improve your writing abilities.
I hope you can write.
Do writing exercises? haha
try your best. if its not good enough you have nothing to regret
