Montreal/Toronto

Sorry to post this in the ibanking forum, there isn't really a forum for travel. Although, enough people ask about various cities so maybe it is time to create one!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about Montreal and Toronto.
Where are the places to go out? Where to eat? What to see? etc

Thanks

Mod: moved to Monkeying Around / Off Topic forum.

Montreal:

Places to go out: Macaroni Bar (supper club), Burgundy Lion, Club 747, Musique, La commission de liqueur. Anywhere on Rue Cresant tends to be fancier & more expensive. Anywhere on Rue St Laurent is cheaper.

Where to eat: STEAK FRITES: There are like 3 of these restaurants around the city. They're all great. FYI, you can bring your own wine. Winestine & Gavinos: Rue Cresant, nice Italian. Rubens Deli: Rue St Catherine..classic montreal smoked meat. Schwartz smoked meat: Rue St Laurent...famous. 3 Amigos on St Catherine...Great margaritas, terrible mexican food, but if you say its your birthday you get a free novelty sombrero. Worth it.

What to see: Go to Old Port...you can get the metro. Its the old city, really beautiful. Olympic Stadium McGill campus Parc du Montréal Bell Centre..see a hockey match.

Ill let others add more. Enjoy your trip.

In Montreal: It depends, it's a party city so it depends on your personality but the nightclub scene is pretty fantastic; from sketchy after hours spots like Red Lite and Circus to Time and 1234. Alot of nice restaurants, nice cars and beautiful people off Rue St. Catherine and St. Laurent. If you're a little bit older and just want to see the best restaurants and more tourist-y spots, Old Montreal is your best bet.

Toronto: For dinner hit up La Societe (If you want to grab a nice bottle of burgundy and people watch the Westons and Rogers). Canoe is on the 54th floor of the TD tower, it's gorgeous and a big "banker" spot. Harbour Sixty has the best steak in the city if that's your scene. The Black Hoof (King St. West) is an amazing underrated spot with amazing horse tartare and a nutella and foie plate that will make you cry. One Hazelton and Sassafraz in Yorkville are gorgeous spots too but a little bit of an older, stuffier crowd.

Uniun is your best dance club bet (gorgeous new 1000+ capacity spot), along with the whole Adelaide/Richmond strip. Lobby in Yorkville and Panorama (Amazing views) are classier lounge-type spots with even more beautiful people.

Hope that helps,

Check out Chuck Hughes restaurant in Old Montreal. He beat Bobby Flay on Iron Chef.

Toronto - Queen West / Ossington ... King West if you want to club with wannabes (lots of them in Toronto)

Montreal's the better city. It's too bad the banks had to move to Toronto
