Next Steps for a Student [Non-Target]

I am about finish my internship in the finance department for one of the larger healthcare providers in the east coast. I will be a Junior (Double major in Economics and Finance GPA ~3.1) this coming semester and I have only recently become interested in IB but I would like to stay focused on smaller local businesses so I think a boutique investment bank would be my best option and am looking to make the transition for my next and final summer internship since healthcare really isn't what I expected it to be. In doing so, I have created a speadsheet of all boutique investment banks in my area and searched out who I think to be the best points of contacts in each firm(Alums from my school, simular volunteer experience, ect). My Question is what should be my next steps in contacting these people in my search for an internship next summer? Should I take them out for coffee and ask them questions about the industry and their experience? What should I excpect and be looking for as someone in my position(internship, shadowing opportunity, ect)? Finally, How should I go about contacting them them (linkedin, email, ect)?

Thank you for your response. The truth is I just didn't make grades as much of a prority as I should have. I came into college with the naive midset that as long as I'm above a 3.0, I'll be fine. I definitely need to adjust that. Do you think it would be appropriate to ask these potential contacts to happy hour since I'm focusing more on building relationships rather than interviewing for them?
