Patrick, people with website experience, please read
Fuck the street, I have a website idea that's gunna make me millions and millions of dollars.
Just kidding, to some extent. I have a website idea that I think would be both helpful and popular. Im not selling anything so I just have to focus on paying for the website.
Here is what the website would have (to get an idea on development/pricing)
-Forums such as this site (definitely not a competitor with WSO lol)
-ability to have people login and write on the site
-neat, aesthetically pleasing look
-ability to support many viewers of the site without it crashing/fucking up
Has anyone done this or have some experience? Looking to see how much coin I have to drop to start the website.
I am really serious about the idea. Thanks!

I yea and pm me with any
I yea and pm me with any leads on a website developer. I know as much about development as the greek government knows how to solve their debt crisis
Generic forums can be
Generic forums can be downloaded and installed for free. The ability to login and write? Like a blog? That's free, too. Neat, aesthetically pleasing look could mean many things, and "neat designs" could cost...anything, really. Ability to support users would depend on the uptime of your web hosting and how much traffic it can handle.
There are thousands of forums
There are thousands of forums out there already, and they don't make much money at all. Try thinking of something more original.

Definitely check out
Definitely check out Wordpress. It's incredibly user friendly and has a ton of layouts you can pick from. I run a sports blog site in my free time and set everything up myself and I have absolutely no experience with website development. Wordpress should be able to support everything you're looking for. I didn't have to pay for a developer so my expenses were literally almost zero.
Let me know if you have any questions.

How much experience do you
How much experience do you have? Doy you know programming? (HTML? CSS? Javascript? PHP? Python?)
How internet savvy are you? Do you know what FTP means, or the difference between an IP address and a domain name?
You will want a content management system (CMS). Something like Wordpress (the CMS, not the blog) will be useful.
That's the most fucking
That's the most fucking original idea I've ever heard. Watch out FB, this guys gonna have a website....that you can LOG IN to. Fucking incredible bro

Use phpBB for the forum; it
Use phpBB for the forum; it takes a matter of minutes to set up through your host (I recommend 000webhost if you don't have one already). You'll need fucktons of PHP with some AJAX/Javacsript for all the user interactivity, and some advanced CSS to get the aesthetics down right. You're where I was a year ago.. first few months are brutal, but you eventually get the hang of it. Message me if you have specific questions
