Project finance? - Staying in the energy/infrastructure space
Hey guys,
Now that I have my summer worked out I'm starting to explore what I want to pursue for FT in the fall. I'm definitely pretty firm on staying in the energy/infrastructure space but I've recently been looking into Project Finance groups. I'm not concerned with exit ops just something that really interests me. What are some of the best firms/groups for project finance (in terms of deal flow/prestige/size)?
Thanks alot in advance,
Pretty sure Citi is #1 in the league tables with MS right behind.
Ya I'd looked for league tables but all the dealogic ones are on the online project finance magazine, which has a pay wall. If someone has a link to them or could post them I'd appreciate it.
how are the pay and hours in comparison to other groups?
+1. Thanks alot!
There is almost no reliable information on this website regarding project finance. I would be very cautious of some of the advice/info given here.
Citi made a big retreat out of project finance when the crisis hit, as did RBS. As for the league tables - half the banks in the top 10 are simply providing liquidity for domestic development (unless you really want to work for SBI...). Also, it really depends on which industry and geography you are interested in. The leading European renewables PF bank will not be the same as the best energy African mining institution etc.
Smitty123: assuming you are joining SG or BNPP for energy I would not be too worried about deal flow or exits.
may answer some of the questions http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/is-project-financing-more-of-a-ca…
