Receiving Packages at Walk-Up Apartment in NYC

What is the best way to receive packages at an apartment in NYC without a doorman?

I'm starting as a first year analyst later this month and was wondering. Can you get packages shipped to the office?

NYC Delivery no doorman

There are a few solutions to getting your packages delivered when you are at work. The most common is to get your packages delivered to your office address. USPS will also hold packages for you at a local facility. If they are holding a package for you they will leave a note. You pick up the package at your convenience.

If you are ordering from Amazon they offer a free amazon locker service in NYC and other major cities.

Here are some paid solutions as well:

Key Takeaways

  • Get packages sent to your office or pick them up in a secondary location.

Usually I just get a note from USPS or UPS on my door saying that I have to go pick them up at the nearest post office, which is like 4 blocks away. I assume they try to buzz up to my apartment or something when they come by to deliver it but obviously I'm at work during the day so I can never come down and pick it up. I'm in Chicago btw, but I imagine the procedures are very similar. You can probably look it up online somewhere, I would think?

If they're small/light packages just have them delivered to your office and take them home at night. If its UPS packages then you can register for their mychoice program which allows you to have stuff shipped and held directly at your nearest UPS store - you can then pick them up whenever.
