Resume Critique for Summer Analyst Position [Target/Semi-Target University]

Please critique my resume. I am a junior at a target/semi-target depending on the firm.

I am applying for SA positions at all the BB and Elite Boutique Banks, maybe some MM. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Looks good. Thats the same format I have seen most ib resumes

Either you're slingin' crack-rock, or you've got a wicked jump shot. There's no honor in taking that after school job at Mickey Dee's, honor's in the dollar, kid.

Overall looks very good. Couple points:

  • $200-400mm what? Valuation? Revenue? Would specify. Also confused about what you mean. Were you working for that chemical company evaluating potential targets? Or were you working for the firm buying that chemicals co? Would make that more clear.
  • You don't need "with Associate" in your valuation analysis bullet
  • I'd take a bullet each off your past experiences and write more on your banking experience. If it's a very small boutique, I'd add a bullet briefly describing the bank. "Boutique investment bank founded in XXX focusing on sell-side M&A transactions in the XXX space. One of XXX summer analysts."
  • Did you get an offer to return to the boutique bank? If so, definitely put that. If not, have a good reason why.
  • "dollars" is redundant under student run investment fund. Make sure you have 1 or 2 good, deep pitches ready for what you looked at in your fund.

Thanks for the comment, bonobochimp. I'll make some edits to that section.

If I add more bullets to my first section, wouldn't there be too many bullets under one heading?

I would switch "Cum. GPA" to "Cumulative GPA" or just "GPA"

I feel like you might run the risk of having some stick-in-the-muds and HR ding you for that, but I would hope no one would do that
