Resume Questions - Semi-target
Hi, I go to a semi-target and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on improving my resume (phrasing, organization, etc.) It would be much appreciated: http://www.razume.com/documents/16714

After noticing that you're not actually asking us any questions at all, I find your forum title rather ironic.
would not list a major GPA when 1.) that major is english and 2.) that gpa is 3.4.

@San Franciscan--fair point. I should have just put "thoughts"
@Cartwright--should I just say B.A. with Honors and not put my GPA? I toyed with this. My GPA was marred by a 2.5 freshman year as well as an illness that caused me to miss a semester.. However I worked very hard my last three years and managed to graduate with honors in English.
@bbanked--could you humor me with an example?
Thank you everyone. I was not very directed in college and am now struggling to put something presentable together.
Also, would it help me to put my SAT score if it was 2000? My math and verbal was over 1300.
Your attention to detail is horrible and your resume shows no clear focus. Some say the minimum GPA is 3.5, but that's not true. It's really 3.3. You really need a 3.3...... coming from a good school.
@New Yorker: The problem is that I did what I whatever seemed interesting/feasible when I was in college. I thought (wrongfully so) that by graduating from a decent (top 25) school, with a "well-rounded" resume, I would be fine. I wrote three serious (20+) page research papers too, but that doesn't really fit. And yes, I wish my GPA was higher--my school is notorious for grade deflation--but I hate making excuses.
I want to work with NPOs, NGOs, education institutions, and governments in regards to consulting.
Honestly, if you just give up on being a consultant, this resume is good to go for the non-profit job search.
Yes, I know that--there are plenty of education think-tanks/NPOs in DC. All my experiences at these types of organizations have been off-putting to me in different ways. Simply they deal with these high-minded, abstract ideas that will not be solved through "programming" or petitions. Think tanks meanwhile, just have you work on the research part of the "cycle" of solving a problem so that our esoteric research can be sent to a congressional hearing.
I want to work on problems that can be "solved" and identified. More so, I want to be involved in the whole cycle from identification to implementing a solution.

bbanked, thank you for being blunt with me--it puts the "point" of the resume into a clearer perspective for me.
