Hey,
I was hoping to get some resume advice for recruiting. I am going to U. Texas at Austin in the fall for a master of accounting and am going to try to go through recruiting for energy banking in Houston. I have a couple specific questions.
1) Is it ridiculous with this resume to try for i-banking?
2) If not, should I try this fall for FT or should I wait a year and do an internship next summer?
Also it would be great to know everything that is wrong with it.
Thanks

Taking a quick glance at your
Taking a quick glance at your resume, overall your format is good and your experience is pretty solid. Here are a few changes I have:
1. Take out "GPA not applicable" - if you haven't started or don't yet have a GPA, just leave it out
2. Increase the font size of your name a bit
3. Put down your anticipated graduation date for your Masters, not when you're starting - "Anticipated: XXX"
4. Your most recent experience is solid - perhaps a bit of sentence tweaking, but overall, the bullet points are good.
5. Your Smith Barney internship needs some work - you need to expand on your bullet points - what did you use to evaluate/analyze equities, what did the model encompass and how did it increase efficiency, etc.
6. Don't mix dates - in other words Fall 2009, then May 2009, then Aug. 2009 - use full words for months example - "May 2008 - August 2008" to be consistent
7. You can remove the "Work Status" bullet point
Regarding your candidacy, if the program is a 1-year program, then you definitely want to go for FT employment while you are still in school. If, however, you can take it out an extra semester and include other coursework or a concentration or the like, then you can push for internships and then make another push, with ideally, an IB internship under your belt, for FT employment next year.
Good luck

Not sure about "Thomson Reuters" as a technical skill. Did you use EcoWin or Datastream or something?
