Revenue / Revenue Forecast Modeling for Revenue Planning

Hi everyone,

Kind of desperate here and couldn't find this in the search option, does anyone here know where I can find sample revenue models use for revenue planning, or any material related to it?

thanks!

Not sure about what purpose your task is for. But based on my experience at a HF internship, I only used regression analysis/model when forecast revenue.

It was a simple math model, but if you want a more reasonable result you may wanna build a quant economics model including a lot other factors that may influence the revenue (even social policies.) Then that's beyond of my knowledge

its for a tech company. im looking to see what kind of models people have made for other clients in the past that i can leverage.

how do you factor in something like social policies? forgive my ignorance, i do not have a strong background in finance modeling. i know there are assumptions and other factors that you can formulate, but im looking to avoid building something from scratch.

I have no idea about how specifically to formulate those things, but my former supervisor (the one at the HF) told me, there are different ways to do that.

Like first, you can have another model, focusing on the quant correlation between a certain policy and the stock market. In simple terms, maybe when something happens, there is a formula that you can roughly apply to the market performance in certain industries (But definitely more complicated than that, i guess?)

then you wanna combine the two models (or more) together.

Or, sometimes it's just like you put more qualitative analysis along with the quant model. I am doing an analysis on the correlation between insider transactions and stock price for my internship. After finish a simple quant model i also have to check what other factors may influence the price (like dividend payment), and then comprise everything together. You can apply this way to all stocks so you can call it an "Economics Model", not just a quant model.

But really, about how to build a very complicated model to formulate other factors that may influence the market, i really don't know. Too hard for me now haha
