Savannah - St. Patrick's Day
Has anyone ever gone to this? I am looking to go because I've heard good things and I was looking for any insights or stories from people who've done it.

Million+ people crammed into downtown Sav for a weekend of people pissin on each other isn't my idea of fun. Had a friend get wasted, jump in the river, and got arrested last year.
Anyone else?
I've never been to Savannah, but Chicago is a blast on St. Patrick's Day and I would recommend it to anyone.
Yeah I was hoping people on the forum might have some suggestions on specific bars in Savannah that are good spots to post up.
I've been to Savannah several times. It's one of my favorite cities. You can't throw a stone without hitting a bar and you can't go wrong with any of them. Just make sure you get a hotel in the Historic District so you can walk everywhere.
I love it any time except for St Patricks day. So many vagabonds show up on St Patricks and the streets wreak of piss. If you do go... def get a hotel in the river. You don't want to be around the Shitshow
Re-visiting this thread, here's a few bars worth checking out off the top of my head.
For dinner and drinks:
Brunch: - Molly MacPherson's: See above. - SoHo South Cafe: Excellent Sunday brunch. In my opinion this place has the most comfy barstools in town. Interesting craft cocktail menu. - J. Christopher's: A more traditional brunch venue. You'll want to get there early since it fills up fast. It's also the only place on this list that doesn't serve alcohol.
If you will be driving I recommend that you buy booze before you get to Savannah since the liquor stores in the Historic District can be tricky. Beer is plentiful though. The area just south of River St. all the way down to Forsythe Park is chock full of neat gems so it would be worth it to explore; day-drinking spots abound.
PM me if you want more info.
Wow, great value add post. Thanks for writing, SB
So for St. Paddy's specifically, the first list of bars are the best spots?
I am def going to get into Savannah Slammers and Chatham Artillery Punch. I'm just looking to rage for the day and fly back home.
