Re-visiting this thread, here's a few bars worth checking out off the top of my head.

  • Jen's and friends: Martini bar with over 300 delicious martinis on the menu.
  • Molly MacPherson's Scottish Pub & Grill: Good pub with decent brunch options.
  • Bar Bar: Good late night spot with a cool decor. If you like Red Bull, ask for a Savannah Slammer.
  • Congress St. Social Club: Lots of live music.
  • River House Seafood: Restaurant on River St. that serves great Chatham Artillery Punch (local specialty drink, strongly recommend).
  • The Warehouse: Chill bar on River St. that has good happy hour specials. Nice late night place with live music, and they have a kitchen that makes great burgers. They also have a signature cocktail called "Midnight In The Garden" which is worth trying.

For dinner and drinks:

  • Rocks On The Roof: Rooftop bar on River St. overlooking the river. Has live music.
  • Circa 1875: More upscale dining.
  • Jazz'd Tapas Bar: Basement lounge frequently mostly by the locals. Usually overlooked by tourists. Good food and drinks.

Brunch: - Molly MacPherson's: See above. - SoHo South Cafe: Excellent Sunday brunch. In my opinion this place has the most comfy barstools in town. Interesting craft cocktail menu. - J. Christopher's: A more traditional brunch venue. You'll want to get there early since it fills up fast. It's also the only place on this list that doesn't serve alcohol.

If you will be driving I recommend that you buy booze before you get to Savannah since the liquor stores in the Historic District can be tricky. Beer is plentiful though. The area just south of River St. all the way down to Forsythe Park is chock full of neat gems so it would be worth it to explore; day-drinking spots abound.

PM me if you want more info.

Wow, great value add post. Thanks for writing, SB

So for St. Paddy's specifically, the first list of bars are the best spots?

I am def going to get into Savannah Slammers and Chatham Artillery Punch. I'm just looking to rage for the day and fly back home.
