Should I get a second Msc to break "back" to banking?
Hi everyone, i need some serious suggestions here. i'm an international student and i had a finance undergraduate degree in the top university of my home country. After that i came to U.S to study for a master in pubic policy.
Now i am about to finish the first year of the master, but i find the policy major quite different as i thought it would be, and it's really hard to find a job here or back in my country. So i am considering breaking "back" to banking again. so i have two options.
opt1：applying for a finance master , so it will be my second master in 3 years. i'm thinking about MIT/LSE... opt2：return to my home country and find whatever job i can in finance to accumulate work experience and wait for several years and get a MBA..
Any opinions are welcome!
Do you have legitimate work experience - as in a full time job listed on your resume? I'm just curious what got you into public policy and why now you want out.
i don't have full time working experience, i thought public policy would be fun and useful in my own country, but it turns out it isn't, at least to me. And a second thought is i don't want to waste my four year finance/economics education, and with more understanding to the financial industry, i now realize working in banking is much more interesting than in policy area. so that's why i want to change.
you were never in banking, how could you "break back"
so maybe i used a wrong word, that's not the point. Given my situation, how could i actually have the chance to get into banking?
