Like most sequels the first one was better, still a pretty good movie

I'd say it's even better

I'd say it's even better than the first one...Heath Ledger's Joker is simply mind-blowing. This movie is already breaking all kinds of box office record.

Many twist and turns in this movie.

Better than the first one.

Better than the first one. Like everyone knows, Ledger's Joker is an instant classic. The first 5 minutes just set the tone for the whole movie. And the dissepearing pencil trick, classic as well. Overall, a really dark and rather violent movie.

I would, however, liked to have seen more of Bruce Wayne. They didnt really focus on his social life outside of a few scenes. Also, Im not a huge fan of the voice Bale uses for Batman.

Anyways, I think Im going to go climb on top of my roof and stand at the edge for a bit, as if I were looking out over a city.

by far the most awesome

by far the most awesome movie to come out recently. Definitely number 1 superhero movie. I have it:

Dark Knight
Spiderman I
Xmen I
Iron Man
Xmen II
Batman Begins
Spiderman II
Xmen III
The rest suck.

Yes, I did just take the time to rank superhero movies.

It was def awesome

Awesome movie. Agree with Mr. Green. Would've liked to see more of Bruce Wayne and not a fan of the voice used for Batman. Also, I'd like to demand more scenes of Bale + no shirt.

Our obsession with rankings

Our obsession with rankings on this forum is approaching the absurd...heh.

I enjoyed the movie. Definitely on par with, if not better than, the first one. As everyone else said above, I wanted to see more of Bruce Wayne, and the "bat voice" is still really cheesy.

Despite my complaints, still a four star movie for sure. Ledger's Joker is phenomenal and creepy.

*SPOILER BELOW - STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET*

I also thought that the Two Face character was a little rushed - I envisioned them developing him a little, then using him in the next movie. He went mad a little quickly and easily for my taste. I rather enjoyed the metaphor of his coin though...

Ledger was absolutely

Ledger was absolutely amazing in that movie...I cannot believe he is dead...

Easily the best comic book movie ever..definitely better than the 1st, which was great.

Guys, the god damn bat voice is used so that people don't recognize his voice. And stop jacking off to the parts about Bruce Wayne driving around in Lambos with 3 models. Those parts are an absolute parody anyway - completely unrealistic and way too cartoony.

Heath's performance in this

Heath's performance in this film was nothing short of phenomenal. Though the movie was called The Dark Knight, it was absolutely his show.

I quite enjoyed Harvey's character actually. I think Eckart did a great job in the role and while I agree his descent was a little rushed, I loved how it perfectly fit into the movie's ongoing themes of duality between nobility and corruption and Harvey's importance as a figurehead in the crime-ridden world of Gotham.

I second that.... This movie is amazing. I have seldom been impressed by a character (Joker) so much. I mean whenever he came to the screen you just can't resisting listening intently to every syllable he had to say...

'Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, we are tonights entertainment'

I agree. I didn't mean to come off as though I disliked Harvey Dent. I think he was an awesome asset to the movie. I also thought the line "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." was a perfect summary of the character.

I just thought he wasn't given as much screen time/development as the character deserved.

To be honest, I enjoyed

To be honest, I enjoyed Christian Bale better as Patrick Bateman, than Batman/Bruce Wayne. This one, though, was completely The Joker's movie. What a performance by Ledger.

I actually just finally saw

I actually just finally saw it last night, and I was blown away. That was such an amazing character study and insight into the human condition. Especially powerful (though a little "Hollywood") was the ferry scene. Also, the Joker was one of the greatest villains ever for one reason: he had no motivation except for the fact that he was batshit insane. That's the scariest criminal I can think of: one who isn't motivated by money (him burning up that pile of cash was incredible) or anything else, material or otherwise i.e. women, respect, adherence to some fanatical religious belief etc.

One thing that pissed me off was the fact that Batman didn't just blast on him when he was on his motorcycle and had flipped the truck over...

That's cause Batman never kills.

Exactly, that was the point

Exactly, that was the point of the whole movie. Joker wanted Batman to kill him so it would prove that anyone could be corrupted.

Awesome movie

I thought the movie was great. The first scene with the bank robbery really set the tone for the remainder of the movie. Another thing I enjoyed was character development. A lot of action and never any down time. I rate it 9/10.

WSJ

Did anyone else catch the WSJ article claiming that Batman = George W Bush? Pretty amusing, even if the guy is serious and even if he does sort of have a good argument.
