KCG Holdings offer

I was just wondering what you guys think of KCG holdings? Would it be a good place to start a career as a Junior Quant Trader in their London office? Does anyone have any knowledge of the company/culture/comp etc or could share an opinion?

Thanks!

Many thanks for your thoughts. It's good to have some outside opinion as I've been dealing with headhunters only and you never know how much you can trust them. I've taken the offer btw.

Congrats, that is a really good position to be in starting out. In regards to leveraging yourself into a hedge fund... I don't really see why you would want to do that. CAssuncao As long as the firm you're at gives you sufficient access to technology and enough freedom to grow at your own pace, why would you want to move someplace else to do the same thing? I understand bankers and such looking to transfer into new roles, but for trading, why would you want to move unless you were getting a shitty deal?

Sorry for the very very late response but I've just seen your question now.

I did physics as an undergrad and then a PhD in maths at a top UK University. I also did a summer in M&A but no one cared when I applied to quant trading jobs.

Could you please give your thoughts about what it's like to work there ? I have heard that many people left after the merger and that it wasn't that great anymore. I have been contacted regarding an opportunity in London and I don't really know what to think about it so any feedback would be appreciated (PM if you want)

This is the first year of the SA program. I'd be interested in hearing about the reputation of the firm in general if anyone has any insight. Not a lot of information on post-merger KCG on this site.
