Life's all about choices. You may have to chose between Chicago and New York.
You can certainly ask for exceptions, but be prepared for a no.
is the Jefferies one on the saturday?
Just to let you know Jefferies Healthcare group has fallen off since their head of the group left the bank... the group is no longer what it used to be
Early round interviews are easier to ask for a different date on than superdays. So put priority on the superdays and try and reschedule the early round interviews. This also has the advantage of getting to a superday so that means you have gotten past the weed block and now are onto the hand weeding stage.
I have a super day scheduled next week and another firm wants to schedule a super day on the same day. Would just trying to push for another date be ridiculous on the second firm or should I simply tell them I have another super day?
I definitely want the first super day so canceling that one is not an option.
Thanks!
Handling multiple interviews (Originally Posted: 09/22/2009)
How do you guys deal w/ handling multiple interviews in one day?
I'm at a target, and I have 9 first round interviews in one day spanning S&T, banking, and research. Is it normal for the timing of these interviews to be so condensed?
it's easy. you go to one interview and when it ends, you go to the next one. i think you get the picture.
Get some roller blades
You better know your shit. Study up.
Just relax as much as you can between. Review your answered and try and identify where you could improve your responses. And don't forget to eat.

That's pretty insane, and it doesn't give you much chance to learn from any mistakes you make or get feedback, so as Convenience Software above said, you'd better be prepared. I'd suggest having some energy bars so you can make sure to eat, but not too much, during the day, and have a cheat sheet with info on each company that you can quickly scan to remind yourself of the key factoids (e.g. how company is positioned vs peers, key recent events etc). Here's a general guide to the types of info you'd want to know about a company before you interview. It's not geared to IB but you get the point http://bit.ly/ysATn
Not to over-emphasize it, but watch your energy level in the last few interviews. You'll be drained, the interviewers will be lagging after a full day. Drink an energy drink if you need to to make sure you're projecting energy.

Two interviews same day (Originally Posted: 02/03/2010)
Hey guys, funny situation, I was wondering how you would go about this.
I have two interviews on the same day on campus. Each company has a greeter in the lobby which brings you to your interview room. Will this create an awkward situation since I will be seeing both greeters twice that day? Would I be better off declining one of the interviews??
Thoughts?
Thanks
absolutely not,, assuming you don;t have a time conflict, interviewers see this all the time. These banks aren't dumb. Even with the best response to a why xyz company, nobody puts all their eggs in one basket and the banks know this. If anything, it may even make you look more desirable
Gotcha, I guess I'll try to schedule one in the morning and one in the afternoon then. Thanks nets
Oh my god, get a life.
Some people, with OCr, have up to 10 interviews in one day...
It's my first time experiencing this happen, sorry if I irked you..
I agree with Nets86 that this is nothing to be worried about in case there isn't a scheduling conflict. Good luck!
Yeah, there is nothing to worry about, this happens all the time. Once I had an interview in the morning with a recruiter who then was on the same plane as me to NY that night for a superday at another firm. He actually sat next to me (weird plane test) haha, and had asked me what firm and what position. It didn't bug him, and he actually quizzed me a bit for the interview.
