Two questions regarding internships in finance?
1. I'm in high school, and some of my friends do summer or fall programs with like engineering companies. maybe not internships, but they do programs. is there anything like this for finance as a high-schooler?
2. What is the typical year in undergraduate school when students apply for internships with banks, funds, etc?
I know that Loop Capital in Chicago has internships for high school kids over the summer. All BBs have pograms for high school students. They might be short or sort of shadowing but still valuable experience.
do you know of any in california? i keep trying to google these things but i get led to undergrad internships
You should first off look at all of the different BBs in CA. Then go to their website and see if they have any high school programs under a "career" section. If they do not, contact PR or higher up, and just start cold calling the banks. Most likely you will have to just try and cold call the banks and hope that they accept a resume or possible interview. Also like Beny23 said, try also asking for a "shadow", because that will still give you experience and might be more compelling.
