Walk in Proprietary trading Firms?

Are there any proprietary trading desks that would allow anybody to just walk in and trade with their own money? If there are, what kind of leverage do you think they would give you?

Im asking because it's impossible to get in a firm without Yale, MIT, or Wharton labelled somewhere on you.

"Hi, what can I do for you? You want to trade? Just grab a seat and have some money, try not to lose it." Really dude? You're going to have to contribute some of your own funds if you want to trade prop with no regards to your academic/trading background. The cheapest possible way to trade someone else's money that I can think of is firms like this: http://pulsarcap.com/trading_career_programme/overview or Patak Trading.

You pay a smallish fee to do a trial which is nigh impossible to pass. If you succeed, you'll be given a minuscule account it will take months or even years to possibly make a living off of.
