Wall Street Protest
So I live on Wall Street and just finally heard some action outside spurred by the Anonymous protest. Numbers weren't huge but it was definitely a sizeable group. My question is this- how did the NYC police justify shutting down the entire block the past two days? I've had to show my id and give my apartment address to even get on Wall. Can they do that just because a protest has been planned?
Haven't been really following this whole thing this weekend with the exception of the minor inconvenience getting to my place. Any comments welcome.
Are they going to be there tomorrow?
I live in the area too and don't know how they can shut off a public (?) area.
I don't mind the no tourist thing to be honest- kinda like living in a gated community right now. But isn't there something about freedom of assembly in that Constitution thing? I honestly don't even know exactly what the motive behind the protest is (I assume finance=evil?) but regardless, they should be allowed to protest freely.
No idea the timeline for this thing. I thin you would have to go to 4chan for the details.
Fucking hippies
