What positions can this resume attract

Hypothetical outlook; let's assume we are where we are in 2013, with acceptance in Ms.F programs but waitlisted at MBA programs, how would this type of resume be approached if it's from one who is 29/30 years old in 2020?

What are things that this resume can improve on? How can one add more leadership qualities?

Appreciate any feedback. This forum makes me hungry to get better and better, wish I could re-do high school and undergrad.

Spanish isn't for graduate school; just continuing studies and learning Spanish.

Graduate school at Ivy, Masters in Finance.

I've enrolled in Spanish courses and have gotten into top Ms.Fin programs and some MsMgmt. No mba though.

All the way up to 2013 is real, if job stays the same, I enroll in msFin, and get a certificate in mgmt/leadership.im trying to see my options.

You work in O&G and have been getting a masters from Stanford? You have a lot of options but also a lot of work to do on this resume. Put your education at the bottom and make your work more results oriented, turn this from a student resume to a professional resume.

Example: change "Responsible for nominating and scheduling gas on pipelines" to "Scheduled ABC amount of gas per year and designed better efficiency resulting in XYZ efficiency increase, leading to $ZZZ increased profitability". This kind of thing shows that you made an effort to max out your utility instead of just sitting around collecting a paycheck.

Honestly, something about this resume tells me you're still in student mode and might very well be suited to academia.

Guys, please read the years.

Assume 2013 is 100% right, the rest is speculative but I have been accepted into top masters programs.

UFO-- excellent point. Work résumé, not student one. Im horrible with descriptions. I'm simply curious about the avenues that such a background will present. Curious to hear more on your thoughts UFO, and others..

Rework the resume and create a new post. These guys probably scanned this for six seconds...the average time a hiring manager will...and moved on.

I would say you have the full run of options available to you with maybe the exception of trading. It's unusual to be hired as an associate and in most cases a masters will place you at entry level or just a step above it. IBD analyst, ER associate, Asset Management and middle office positions are all within reason. I have no idea what the recruiting at your school is like, so consider that and whether you may need to network. So far, you have a pretty strong resume but unless you're shooting for an academic role you should hold off on getting any more degrees for a while.

Interesting that you say no trading?

Depends on which trading though. I mean the primary exit opp. of a Natural Gas or Crude Oil scheduler is trader. That's usually the course; 3-10 years scheduling and you go to Trading.

I'm emphasized the academics but could do the opposite-- Rice isn't a degree. It's just UT undergrand, Stanford grad, and MIT certificate.

If this me in 2020 I'll have 7.5 years O&G experience; 6 of which is Front Office work. Does this type of resume warrant a management-like position, even though I'd be 30?

I think I should word that differently: I'm not in trading and have no idea what they look for, so MAYBE you can get it MAYBE you can't. I just don't even know. For the other positions, yeah, lots of people have their masters. Hope that clears up any miscommunication.

As for GPA, they're ok. Leaving off GPA is typically a red flag and people will assume your grades were crappy. I'd leave it on but that's me, there seems to be lots of debate on the whole GPA thing.

Agreed with specific projects I worked on, and dropping GPA. I think I should keep the Masters' one though cause that's the most relevant?

Let me re-work and see what I can do But this is my goal as I got accepted into top Ms. Fin programs and some Ms. Mgmt programs.

So I guess that's my other questions; Ms. Fin or Ms. Mgmt for a background like this?
