When and how should I follow up?

Had coffee with an alumni who works at a regional BB about 5-6 weeks ago, and we had a good connection. He told me to keep in touch especially since they are looking for another analyst during FT recruiting. Its nearing the end of summer and I am wondering when I should circle back and speak to him again. Should I offer to get coffee again? Should I just let him know I'm still interested in the position? My school has an OCR program with this BB but there aren't any postings on the website and nothing has really started up yet. How can I stay at the top of his mind without being annoying?

Simply ask him how he's doing. Perhaps if you know the product, perhaps add your thoughts on it. Additionally, end the e-mail with 'would you like to get coffee at the next available point?'

That hardly sounds annoying.
