Bear Stearn first years made total comp of 150 last year. Seems to me the bigger the bank the less the pay.
5K here or there is less important than overall better prestige/exits.

Almost all the bulges paid exactly the same first year (came out to ~145k top-tier total). I have confirmted this with all my friends at Citi, GS, JPM, Lehman, MS and ML.
