young stupid and new!

im looking at different degrees to go for but i would like one that would help me with day trading and stock investing. my end goal is to work in wall street. so what all do you think? also what kind of books would you pros recommend for someone just starting out? i understand the road ahead of me is going to be hard. i just need a helping hand to point me in the right direction so i can start my journey.

At the moment, I'm planning to study business with a finance concentration and math with an OR and stat concentration. My current goal is HF or non-HFT derivatives trading so I think my double major will be sufficient preparation.

To answer your second question, I wish someone told me not to learn about finance careers before I understood financial theory. Don't start looking at positions in the industry (IBD, S&T, etc.) until you're fluent in the basics of finance.
