Apologies of someone else has
Apologies of someone else has posted this on another thread, but an invaluable app for any NYC-based monkey would be iTrans NYC.
It's not free ($2.99, I think....) but is truly the best app to help you get around New York. It is especially valuable if you are relatively new to the Big Apple.
I almost guarantee that it will pay for itself the first day you own it. In fact, even if you are only going to be in the city on a short trip I would still recommend it.
