Apologies of someone else has posted this on another thread, but an invaluable app for any NYC-based monkey would be iTrans NYC.

It's not free ($2.99, I think....) but is truly the best app to help you get around New York. It is especially valuable if you are relatively new to the Big Apple.

I almost guarantee that it will pay for itself the first day you own it. In fact, even if you are only going to be in the city on a short trip I would still recommend it.

+1 for mentioning Evernote, the godsend of applications.

Currently: future neurologist, current psychotherapist Previously: investor relations (top consulting firm), M&A consulting (Big 4), M&A banking (MM)

+1 for instapaper - Save any page in your browser to read later with android or iOS. +1 Google drive - with 5GB free cloud storage it has an edge on drop box as it matches all other features +1 anydo - a simple and smart todo list that has notes and reminders which can be set based on time or location. Ace. Google now may soon have this feature inbuilt when it amalgamated with 'tasks'.

The number of day traders on the Forbes Rich List is…zero

Make that +2 for Google Drive. It's like Dropbox + Google Docs, how more awesome can it get? Also throwing in +1 for Remember the Milk and Genius Scan.
