Contact for WS job.

Hi there
I am a 16 year old student from the UK currently studying A-levels. Is there anyway, or could someone help me in gaining some contacts as I need to build up as many contacts to try and get work experience and eventually a job on WS(my dream job) as it will be harder for me as an international student.

Get into a good school in the UK and this will start to take care of itself.

I was able to get hedge fund internship as a Junior in high school but thats just because I was a family friend of the Hedge fund manager. I got to learn a lot of really important stuff but again it was because of the connection. I've had other internships and they were not nearly as good. It's hard to find a fund that actually trusts a 17 year old kid. I know I wouldn't. It's impossible to network now unless you actually know the right people. Honestly it's not really too big a deal if you wait till university to network.

I started working full time at 15 at an Asset Management firm, you just have to prove you have passion and know your shit.

BUT, if you don't get an internship, it's not the end of the world. But don't waste time on stupid shit. Interested in the markets? Study the markets! Eventually you'll get lucky and will impress the right person.

Good luck! Don't wait until university, that's what the masses do.

Working full time at an asset manager? Didn't you want to finish high school? Given that the market is open during school hours, maybe you took night classes?

I actually did high school online. It was an accredited public high school like any other, which actually helped me get 2 years of college done while in high school with a program called dual enrollment.
