How to Get Adderall?
A few times I've seen posts here about the use of adderall, especially in the threads about staying awake during the analyst years. I was wondering, where do you guys get adderall if you use it? Weird, but serious post btw...
What is Adderall and Where can I get Adderall?
Adderall is a prescription stimulant that is meant to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This is used to help people control their activities and increase their attention spans. Adderall can also be used to prevent symptoms of narcolepsy.
Symptoms of Adderall
However, with all medications there are common and severe side effects of Adderall.
Common side effects include:
- Nervousness
- Dizziness
- Restlessness
- Headache
- Nausea
Serious side effects (if you experience these systems please contact your doctor immediately) include:
- Change in vision
- Seizures
- Chest Pain
- Trouble breathing
- Fainting
Where can I get Adderall?
As with other prescription medication, in order to get a prescription you need to visit your doctor. If you are not over the age of 18, you will need your parents consent (unless you are a liberated minor).
User @FattyPatty", a commercial banking portfolio manager, gives a decent description of how there is a lot of red tape to acquiring adderall:
Not that easy. You'll pay to go to the family doctor who will refer you to psychiatrist for testing (for CYA purposes) and of course that doctor will charge you for the visit. When you go to the psychiatrist you'll
be spending your entire HSA yearly company contribution for the visit which is several hours and even then you might not get the prescription.
Alternatives for Adderall Prescription
As with other prescriptions, there are countless other, healthier, alternatives. Some include:
- Modafinil
- Ginkgo Biloba
- Omega-3 Fish Oil
- Phenylpiracetam
- Coffee
If you have any other recommendations for adderall alternatives or your experience with adderall, please comment below!

doctor
Literally the most oversubscribed drug. Go to a doctor and start listing off symptoms etc. All yours.

This is not necessarily true. I have a few friends who've just went to their family doctor and listed the classic ADD symptoms and got it the prescription the same visit. And I know some whose doctor wouldn't consider prescribing it. So it just depends on the doctor tbh
Will my parents be notified if I end up getting it? I know, that made me sound like a bitch but I was talking to my mom about getting it (like a retard) and she 100% against it, if she finds out, I'll just have to go through unnecessary bullshit with her. I'm still a teen, not an adult living on his own yet.
I mean, frankly I would recommend drinking coffee and other stimulants before you turn towards Aderall. No need to go for it unless you truly need it.
hey there young man... do NOT come on WSO looking for drugs. thank you.
in fact... avoid adderall altogether if you can. sure, it'll start off with a little pill popping to help study for AP chemistry, but soon you will move up to harder drugs like speed and meth. best case scenario you end up on the street giving handjobs for crack. worst case scenario you're on bath salts and eating a homeless man's face.
just fucking man up and take a 5 hour energy.
A licensed physician. As far as privacy goes...HIPAA dude.
Don't end up like this guy when you need your fix.

OP, it isn't as good as they say. The first few times you get a buzz but the experience* is NOT worth it. Man up, get your shit together and find a better way to get your work done.
*Experience includes staying awake for way longer than you fucking wanted, discovering you have the mental capacity to do anything (like an asshat on mushrooms), and absolute incapability of realizing how crazy you seem to regular people.
Usually when I try to dissuade people from a course of action, I try to list the negative consequences of that action, not the benefits.
I wouldnt think your mom would be able to find out, like others have said HIPAA would prevent that. However, if they pay your health insurance and you are under there plan, they may be alerted when you purchase it from the pharmacy. The pharmacies generally dont list exactly what was purchase, but since Adderall is heavily regulated, I have seen it show up a number of times.
^lol.
Guys, come on answer the OP's question.
A: The pharmacy.
Your mom doesn't want you to.. You probably should listen. Otherwise wait until you can afford to make your own decisions.
Try caffeine. Google liquid caffeine if you really need it. They sell it on eBay.
I knew a girl that ate them like skittles when studying for the CFA exams.
She got some psychiatrist to prescribe them. Probably easier this way
Not that I agree with the classification, but Adderall and cocaine are in the same class of drugs according to the federal government if you take them when you're not prescribed/buy/sell them. Therefore people giving Adderall to friends or selling it at school will be treated the same as someone selling cocaine...

If your worrying about it coming up on your mom's insurance ask for generic and pay out of pocket. Adderall has been off patent for a while. That being said, if you really truly don't believe you suffer from ADHD stay away. It's not worth it, because honestly if you walk into a doctors office and say the standard shit, you'll probably walk out with a script.
I am not sure if you are joking around or are serious, but I sincerely doubt W.S.O. endorses posts or topics such related to this subject matter.
I would seriously sit down with your physician to discuss this issue in private. Do not give the standard answers or think you need it. I had symptoms of ADHD growing up that were never diagnosed, found out at around age 28, along with a variety of other symptoms (astigmatism, anemic, low vitamins). I took the alternative route after trying it out (recc. by physician to do a small trial).
You are better off eating healthy (do not take vitamins as our daily food surplus provides enough nutrients), exercising, and doing focus exercises to keep your attention focus. If you need to "stay" awake, coffee/red bull should work (or take a quick break to workout).
Adderall needed! (Originally Posted: 08/25/2014)
I'm prescribed vyvanse but don't take it. my friend gave me adderall it helped me concentrate and study like no other. My dr doesn't want to switch me . I'm forced to find it on the streets now.
This sounds more like "Adderall wanted".
Why don't you take what the doctor who has years of studying and experience in what he is talking about prescribed to you vs. your friend that has no idea?
Adderall is super easy to get in college and like others have said it's very easy to get a scrip. That said, it's not worth locking down a long-term source. It can be a huge help in pushing through an all nighter, but the next day it feels like you've had a lobotomy. Definitely not a recipe for long-term success.
EDIT: just realized this was bumped from 4 years ago. Hope you're not a drug addict now OP!
Look into Modafinil. Safer, negligible additive properties, proven to increase cognition. Much better than Adderall, which wrecks your dopamine release.
Depends on where you live.
